Pros +
- We stayed in a Japanese style room. It was large, clean and comfortable. If we come back to Maebashi we’d stay here again. Great value for money!
- We had to make a last minute booking here when the roads up to the ski resort area closed due to heavy snow. I think our expectations were low due to the average reviews, low price and because this was one of the only places with last-minute availability. I'm happy to say we were extremely satisfied with the hotel. It was extremely clean, well-appointed, the staff were great English speaking communicators all for a very low price. This hotel is an excellent value.
- The staff are very accomodating and the place is clean
Cons -
- The decor is a bit dated and the rooms are on the small side.
- We called that we will be arriving late at around 11pm and its winter, so when we went to our room, its cold!!! we expected the room to be warm since they already know that we are coming with our children..
- Not many restaurants in walking distance.

Very comfortable, roomy, quiet, upscale feeling. Good views of city and mountains. Walking distance to 711
Not many restaurants in walking distance.
Hotel was nicely accommodating for a triple room, which can be hard to find in Japan. Quite convenient to train.
I like the lovely lobby and the nice wooden accents in the room. every thing is very clean.it’s handy to have an ice machine and microwave on the same floor as the guest rooms.the desk chair is comfortable.
I couldn’t get the air conditioner to warm the room around 11 pm.
I like the cleanliness of the room, hallway and bathroom. The yukata sleepwear is nice. The WiFi worked great. It is handy to have the ice machine and a microwave on the same floor or on the adjacent floor.
Could provide hot coffee somewhere other than canned coffee from the vending machine. Drip coffee could be included in the room or available at the front desk.
Nice clean fixtures and linen.
The sound proofing is rather thin.
The Racine has a lovely lobby. The room is nice. It comes with a good size desk, comfortable desk chair and a closet to hang your clothes. The bed is very comfortable. The rom comes with a air purifier which was nice to use.
It might be nice to have another tea bag of a different variety. Also, it may be nice to have a coffee type of tea bag. Or maybe that could be available at the front desk for someone who wants to make hot coffee.
I like the clues proximity to the train station and there’s a large convenience store within a few minutes walk. The lobby is roomy and nice. it’s convenient to have a microwave and ice machine on the same floor as my room. The desk is spacious and the chair is nice for working.
the key fob is bulky and noisy.
Has parking next to hotel
Room not maintained well, air conditioning control out of order.
Excellent breakfast delivered to the room as scheduled. Location close to main highway so nice and convenient for our journey
A good spot to crash for the night between hiking, fishing, etc at nearby Mt. Akagi. Staff were friendly and helpful, check-in and check-out was easy, and rooms were as expected - a place to sleep, a nice little fridge, clean bathroom, and nice amenities like toothbrush, soaps, etc.
Breakfast and location
Overall, the facilities were getting old. Specially the bed was not comfortable.
The room was spacious. Staff was friendly
The restaurant was not operating.
clean, big room, twin beds, close to station
It is in a quiet area, a short walk from the station. I slept well. Indeed, it is not a bad hotel at all. For business purposes it goes far enough... except for coffee.
How difficult can it be? I just want coffee in the morning. Not some awful lukewarm canned poison. The hotel couldn't put a drip bag in the room, which they should at least if Europeans or Americans are staying. I was referred to the vending machine where Asahi Wonda was sold. But this stuff is indescribable. It tastes like the runoff from a steel mill. Frustrating. Also, there were 4 staff members at the reception and not one of them could even greet in English, Czechoslovakian, Urdu, Popocatepetlan, no. Only Japanese. What is this? The nationalist assembly of important cultural protection of the Japanese language? Next day though, lady spoke English fine.
Proximal to Shin-Maebashi station.Breakfast was good.Stuff were welcoming and kind.Allowed luggage storage after checkout until evening. (Check out at 10am)Room size was accommodating for 2 adult and 2 children of age 7 and 5.
Nothing to complain.
A nice hotel, a bit far from the station (400 m) and no conveneint store close by.
At check-in the staff asked me about my residence status. I replied that I reside in Japan. She then continued and wanted to see and copy my registration card. As this is not necessary by Japanese law, I refused. The staff needs to know the law concerning the difference between non-resident and resident foreigners in Japan.
staff are the only good point. seemed to also be a legit wedding venue
it’s old. it is from the 1990s. no auto lock. the bed is way too small. I’m 178cm and my foot poke begone the end of the bed. it’s also too narrow. if you turn over you might fall out of bed. the London also feels old. the carpet is old and very dirty. walls are thin. I could hear the man next door moving in his bed. I took strong sleeping pills so luckily I didn’t wake up. the breakfast is super domestic Japanese. if you prefer western style forget it. no phone charger in the room. I couldn’t find the power socket. there is no coffee only green tea in rooms. the dressing gown is child size. this hotel is for Showa era Japanese. it is a super bad idea for foreigners to come here unless you want to spend a day on the life of a older Japanese person.
